Had mine written off by shop as HP would not do anything to help.
Get it replaced under the no lemons act.
Print out all these comments and take them with you as ammo.
HP don't care about us, they just want your money.
I will not stand for this and have now got a Samsung convertible laptop as a replacement, which is better spec and build quality.
I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING HP EVER AGAIN.

Hope you all have some luck getting a replacement, just don't count on HP being the one who does it.
Speak to the shop you got it from and insist it is not fit for purpose under the no lemons act, also show them these comments to show its a design flaw on the hinge. Every engineer i have spoken to has repaired one of these for the same issue. HP will not admit it has a design flaw but it does!!!
Try and fine a new HP with the same hinge design, I bet you can not!!
