Thanks for your persistence and help but now I am confused. That link you provided offers two options for me. One is for installing HPSA version 5.x for Win 7 or Vista and the other is for version 6.x, Win 7 only. What is puzzling is that both of these link to a download of SP 64126,exe which is version 7.4.45.4, the one that you questioned earlier about where I found that version. I think this answers that question. Why would both options link to the same version? Nevertheless I tried to install this version and obtained the same outcome. It seems to begin to install but after waiting a few minutes and nothing happening it installs nothing that I can find. There is no failure or error message and everthing seems to work properly but there is no HPSA installed.
