Below is the reply I received from HP today. It may resolve your issue, however it doesn't for me as there is no Box app under the HP pick list.

Thank you for contacting HP Technical Support Team.
I gather from your email that you do not see the Box icon to register your free 50GB box storage which is supposed to come with this product. I also see that you have done a factory reset using the recovery discs; however you are unable to access Box cloud.

I request to perform the steps given below.
1 Go to the Windows8 App Store tile on your HP laptop
2 Select the Box app from the HP Picks list
3 Download the latest version of Box app to create your 50GB account and get started!
