Foxy,
I am sorry that happened to you! No one likes a sneaky thief. Such people lack a moral compass. :smileymad:
If you have the serial number of the Chromebook (for example on the order sheet), then you can give this to your Local Police. In the event that the notebook shows up later in some sort of raid or other police action, they can use the serial number to prove the computer was stolen. While this is perhaps an unlikely scenario, it might be that YOUR Chromebook, having been reported as stolen, that helps crack a case against the thieves later.
How does it work? Your Chromebook might end up on Craigs list or somewhere almost immediately. Poof! Gone. Sometimes, though, thieves collect "stuff" and keep it around for a time. It is always possible that your thief could be "caught with the goods" before he can get rid of the item(s). If the thief is caught with something that has been reported stolen, it strengthens the case against him in court.
Good Luck!
