If you are going to take it to a local PC tech that is not a problem.  I am sure he/she can replace it with something that has been a good replacement item for them in the past.  It need not be an HP part.  The drives have many generic options to try.  Many OEM drives for notebooks do not have the same "taste" for media as do the desktop units.  Tell them of the troubles experienced so far and go with whatever your tech says.  It need not go back to HP just to get a drive replaced, especially if you do not want to send it back.

Why do you say "Is there no one out there who can answer any of my questions ?"  Trying to help you out.
