Download the driver software on another PC and try it again.
Can you identify the manufacturer and device by using the Device Manager? See the following image. Right-click the device without a driver and select properties to invoke the device's properties dialogue window.
Post the PCI\VEN information here. I may be able to find a driver for it. I can make no promises that one does exist for Windows 8.
