Ok, looked like you bought a demo laptop because the box of a new laptop must be sealed. After a while, they may mixed up elsewhere of mistakenly threw to a bin. HP part store does not show part # for the battery. Again, my suggestion go back and ask the vendor. I would return it on the spot.
