Could this cause some of my problems?

I'm having a HP laptop model: 14b002eo

I've recently just made a clean install Windows 7 and everything seems to be fine and running but sometimes sound just vanishes and it can cause a game (GTA San Andreas) to lagg. Usually I can play the game with no lagg at all but when sound is not working then it's lagging a lot in game.

Could this cause my computer to mess up sometimes?
