I have a hp g62 i3 notebook about 3 years old , I have had this problem for quite a while, when I first power up the toutchpad works perfectly, I need to collect something so have to put the notebook down, when I pick it up again the touchpad only registers on the left half , the right half will not register if I place a finger on it although if I sled my finger from the left across the touchpad this now works. I have used the software to test the toutchpad and it registers pressure across the pad , if I go into properties and reset the device it works again right across. I have up dated drivers , removed and reinstalled drivers but to no avail , hope someone out there xan help me and I'm not alone , worst case will be me purchasing a new touchpad with new drivers .
