I have a Dell laptop running Win 7. The old Compaq is a backup machine. I was just hoping I'd be able to find a easier way of finding out about the product key verses some lengthly process of trying to read the faded key from the machine itself. And I see no reason to fork out a ton of money when I have a product key. After all, now you have to purchase a whole new disk for EACH machine just to get a product key. I have OS disks for XP, Vista, and Win7.
