Consider:

The following may help:
Windows key+ X> O(Opens Power Options) >
Click "settings" (on the right side of the screen) >>
From the Selection of options showing on the screen,
Select/ Click on Change what closing the lid does>
SelectDo Nothing> OK
Windows key+ X> M(opens the Device Manager) >
Network Adapters>
Right-Click your Wireless Adapter > Properties> Power Management>
Select as appropriate:
UNCHECKAllow computer to turn off this device…
CHECKAllow this device to wake computer (if available) >
OK
NOTE: If Applicable, make the same changes for Bluetooth...
- You can also poke at the "Advanced" Device settings
Windows key+ X> O(Opens Power Options) >
Along the ride side, SelectChange Plan Settings>
SelectChange Advanced Plan Settings>>
Within the Advanced Menu, select and adjust as desired >
Saveany changes and Exit
You can also decide when and IF to switch off the computer at all (more power options) -- assuming the system is plugged in to AC power. Not allowing the system to sleep may reduce its overall lifespan; it may also reduce other issues so the matter comes down to personal choice.
Do please make the choice to switch OFF the Display after just a few minutes of inactivity -- your monitor (external or otherwise) may burn up faster than other components and may be a power hog compared to a semi-slumbering system.
