UDMA 0 AND HOW BIG SSD CAN WORK?

Hello,

i think ihave a problem with my sata controller, disk and/or dvd drive as it will only run in udma0 (zero) mode where i think it should run in at least udma2 or higher coming from the idea that back in 2010 that was the minimum and also my last time i did this kind of work ;-), so i lack a bit in recent knowledge but just guess it should go way faster then udma zero?

the original 500 gb harddisk is on channel zero primary and the dvd drive is on channel one primary.

it seems also a bit slugish, i suspect it can run much faster.

i think i have all apropriate drivers like the intel chipset drivers installed but am not sure about that, it seems to work ok, i have no further problems in hardware device manager.

second part of my question; i am planning to swap the harddisk for a ssd and preferably a large one of 4 tb

the samsung 870 QVO 4 TB sata600 is the one i was thinking about.

will this work? , or is there some sort of barrier at 1-2-3 terrabyte?

allong the line of my problem and wish question3: i see that there is a more recent bios (2019), the probook still has its original, is it wise to update?, in my experiance bios update often speed up the general performance of a computer.

thanks, richard
