This problem started by drive reading DVD's but not writing.  I shutdown system powered off and removed Drive and reinserted. Upon restarting Vista could no longer see the drive and it was no longer in device manager.  I couldn't get a replacement drive from HP or their resellers, but located a new one at cBear computer through Amazon.  Vista also doesn't see the new drive. The CD/DVD drive appears in the Bios boot option but not in file manager or explorer. Showing up in the Bios seems to indicate a software problem.  Running microsoft fix it  responds with a no problem found. I need some serious help!
