I made the mistake of flashing my BIOS to F.20 and it has made my OS unable to boot. I use Windows 2000 on this laptop for a specific reason and upgrading the OS is *not* an option. Even reinstalling Windows doesn't work. I've traced it to a problem somewhere in setting up the kernel boot drivers, but otherwise for the past two days I've tried everything possible, scoured the net, and I've found no solution. I went on ebay and ordered a replacement motherboard (which I'm praying has a pre-F.20 bios) and a replacement BIOS chip just in case.
I'm *very* angry about this. I've always bought HP laptops in the past, but this is completely unacceptable. What did you do to break the OS? And *why* can't I downgrade to the version that works?
