The new system should load the correct driver and you should be able to move the photos. Also if the flashstick memory is too small it will not work as well to transfer the photo as well. So you need to know how big the flashstick is and can it hold the photos. This is something you should check into by plugging into the laptop and check it capacity of free space to save the photos to.
