Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Controller Driver (Driver - Network) sp7608017.4.0.1

@iMaxx I'm not seeing this driver.

The version I have installed is 17.2.0.2 and it seems to be the only version available via SDM.

Otherwise, I seem to have everything else and have updated the BIOS as well to 1.11 on my g3 zbook studio.

Will report back with updates on behavior...

Odd.
Checking up on this. My newly installed system shows 17.2.0.2 as well.

Stand by.

There are not any other cables for these.

But I will give this feedback to the engineers. (I think I'd like a 90 degree one too, now that you mention it!)

Yeah, I'm losing about 4" of cable due to having to bend both ends!

Ends up being very limiting...

Learned the lesson with the M.2 drives as well.  I was so excited to finally have an in-distribution SmartBuy ZBook that had a drive configuration that met our needs and wasn't outrageously priced... and then I found the M.2s included don't support any hardware encryption.  Sad face.  Back to buying Samsung SSDs and slapping them in!

PLEASE get them to put out a 90-degree cable.  Shoot - I've even seen documentation somewhere that SHOWED a 90-degree cable in the picture!

As for the Broadcom drivers, I see this in SDM:

And this in Installed Programs:

Bios is not acpi compatible.

Hi.So here we go.I have hp compaq 6910p. It was kept for a moth in the store room.I did not use it for a month and kept it as such. When i tried to start it i got a choice that there are some memory changes.."save chanes or ignore them" i chose the save option..and after that the resolution of the start up was all changed it became very low..and when it tried to start and reached the starting windows logo preparing automatic repair started..windows is loading files and when the bar completed the laptop was restarted and then i got to choose between start win normally or start automatic repair..No matter which option i chose it starts the automatic repair and is again restarted and i get another black screen that windows failed to start a recent hardware or software might be the cause and on the info it shows that bios is not acpi compatible..i tried to install the windows and again the same loop of automatic repair happened.. i had disconnected the hard drive and again connecte it but no change also in the bios on diagnostics i have the option of memory and startup check but hdd self test option is grayed..plz help..

I do agree that the limited Thunderbolt cable length is somewhat limiting. However, there is usually some method to the madness :-). THe USB-C standard provides support for power supply of up to 100W. In order to support this wattage, there is active components on the USB-C connectors that help wok out Voltage levels the system is using for charging. This, along with all the data coming across a TB connection makes these kind of cables limiting, without additional electrical components that could allow extended lengths.

So, here we are... THe electrical engineers developing these accessories have to abide by currently available technology and they understand what cable lenghts can be safely be used

The length works fine for me.  The ergonomics of the right-angle power connector (from the AC adapter) on the in-board side of the straight-out-the-back dock cable are what bug me.  with a "traditional" dock, it at least sits neatly behind the laptop and then has all the docked connections (power, ethernet, monitors, etc) coming out the back of that in a tidy fashion.  Even most USB3 docks I've used on netbooks at least have the dock in-bound connection on the side of the dock so that when you route the cable out of the netbook and into the dock it allows the dock to sit behind or under the back of the laptop neatly.

On this thing, however, with the short cable and the odd arrangement where the laptop connection is on the RIGHT but the dock cable port on the dock is out the BACK on the LEFT, you are almost forced to have the dock sitting somewhere to the right of the laptop and then bend the dock cable into a contorded way to get it to connect.

I digress though - at the end of the day, if the **bleep** thing is at least finally working (which mine now appears to be, sans Citrix Web Receiver software on my computer), then I'm farther along than I was last week.

Now to just get preboot USB support (I realize this may be as much an Intel/MS issue as anything), and we might just see a unicorn start dancing spontaneously across our screens at bootup!

So far, so good on my system with 1.09 and all of the other updates running - about 12 hours and several reboots into it.

Sure would have been nice if dock port was out front of dock or you could choose between front or back... Obviously with them already made, we're probably only going to get a slightly better cable vs a whole new dock if anything. Ask for the smalls... Big gets a fast and hard reject.

Hi iMaxxx

Thanks for the updates - I have logged into your FTP link and got the BIOS, but where can we get the new drivers from you listed? They are not in SDM yet as you mentioned.

Thankyou

Alright ... v1.11 BIOS installed and both USB and monitos have worked flawlessly so far. Unplugged and plugged them in about 10 times so far and everything is looking great. Still early days as I've only been running the BIOS for about an hour but seems a lot more stable than 1.08. I can finally use my keyboard and mouse through the dock rather than plugging them into the laptop.

Unless it falls over again in the next few days, awesome work HP - thank you. In saying tihs, it would be great if your Tier 1 team were made aware of these issues rather than having to show them this forum myself.

I was able to find all of the updated drivers fit the ZBook 17 G3 in SDM (except the 1.09 BIOS of course).

Thank you for the confirmation.

I will notify the Front level so that they can guide the customers better.

Good day,
when I was provide service for business notebook ProBook 450 G1 E9Y58EA, I noticed a negative fact. Processor Intel Core i7 4702MQ underclocked to 110 MHz randomly of use and this clock it holds so 3-10 minutes. Windows 10 is very slow and laggy on 110 MHz.
What do you recommend I do?

A new BIOS (1.07 Rev A) was released on June 6th, 2016.  I suggest you install this update and then see if your issue still occurs.

I have some additional suggestions for keeping your system current.

The link below will take you an HP Support site that allows you to signup for update notices from HP.  Enter your contact infomration and then select the products you want monitored for updates.  On this site you can manage your profile where you can select if you want daily, weekly or monthly notifications.

https://h41369.www4.hp.com/signup_alerts.php?country=US&language=US&jumpid=ex_r11362_go_myadvisory

Second, you should download and install SDM (SoftPaq Download Manager).  This tool will help you download and install updates.

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/ads/clientmanagement/drivers-bios.html

Third and last, I suggest that you go to the link below, explore and become familiar with all of the HP Client Management services and tools available.

@iMaxx - happy to say that the 1.11 BIOS you provided for my zBook Studio G3 seems to have addressed the USB issues I had been experiencing.

For the past 24 hrs I have not had any stuck keys, frozen or non-functional usb keyboard/mouse.

I've not tried to mess around with graphics yet, switching displays etc... haven't had time.  I'm just happy that basics seem to be working well!
