I'm sorry you're running into this IO error message. Have you run a hard drive test yet?
Here's how:
1. Shutdown the computer
2. Power on and immediately begin tapping the F2 key repeatedly
3. Choose the Start-Up Test first. It is the quickest (20 minutes or less, usually a lot less) and checks all of the major components involved in Startup
4. If everything passes on the Start-Up Test, run the more thorough Hard Drive Test. It takes a solid 20-25 minutes unless an error is caught early.
