My gf bought a HP Envy 6t a while back and the warranty expired in sept. Just last night we were sitting on the couch and she closed the lid to the laptop and there was a loud crack. The hinge section that mounts inside the screen's bottom right corner was now exposed along with the plastic mount point from inside the lid that it was screwed to. She is very upset. I don't understand how HP could sell this with some kind of metal reinforcement inside the lid/display to withstand normal open/close actions. Very shoddy design.
