Know that issue too well , happened to me yesterday and I felt compelled to pass on what "WORKED" for me (novice on discussion boards) . . .After leaving laptop ON and CHARGING , I tried to start it back on . . . NOTHING , no lights @ all . . .tried another charger , which I happen to have , & still NOTHING . . .called HP help line , they asked me to do the things I've already tried (though I did appreciate their time/efforts) . . .I asked If the battery was no longer holding a charge would it still work when CHARGER was on , they replied , EVEN IF THERE WAS NO BATTERY ON THE COMPUTER , IT WOULD POWER UP W/CORD . . . So their suggestion was for me to send the laptop in for repair . . .(guess what ? out of warrenty a month ago) . . .
After getting off the phone , in frustration w/laptop I started thinking what we discussed , and remembered him talking about the laptop should POWER ON W/OUT A BATTERY IN IT . . .SO, I TOOK OUT THE BATTERY (LEFT IT OUT) POWER CORD IN THE LAPTOP "& GUESS WHAT HAPPENED ? THE **bleep** THING POWERED UP . . .WORKING GREAT , NORMAL NOW . . .It may have had to reset it's self , not really sure . . . hope this helps someone out there . . .
