Hi AllysonH, welcome to the HP Forums. If CD's are working fine, and DVDs are not recognized at all, you can go through this troubleshooting document: Drive Cannot Read Discs (Windows 7)
If you make it all the way through without a resolution, then the drive needs to be replaced.
