Yes, that works well and there are a few other freebies like that one.
Some folks just don't want to have anything to do with W8, classic shell not withstanding.
While most folks wipe their W8 installations away and make recovery disks, I prefer to remove the hard drive and install W7 on a different hard drive, so that the W8 installation is preserved.
Sometimes recovery disks don't work, and then one is hosed.
