I have a problem with BIOS password. I have smc.bin file. I copied it a flash disk(16 GB/ I dont have any other size). I tried to reset it but no luck.
I have to reach BIOS options for enabled the Virtualization. İs there any other way for enabled the Virtualization.
if someone have any other ideas please share with me for both case. I need to enabled virtualization.

after 3 times it comes up with the on screen keyboard and if i enter it incorrectly again on this screen it just says
"System Locked
Press the power button to restart the system. "

For that model you will need to contact HP in your region and they should be able to send you a customized SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password.

I have the same problem with a brand new ProBook 440 G5 (i7, pre-installed Win 10 Pro). Sometimes after a cold start, the process with name `System` consumes 25 % CPU (and CPU temperature is ~70°C). This is the same as in the first post in this thread:

And sometimes the CPU usage of `System` is below 1 %, but process flow.exe is consuming ~10–15 % of CPU.
IMHO audio drivers are total garbage. When I disable audio device (Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers > Conexant ISST > Disable device), CPU usage & temperature drops down – but obviously, I am without sound.
I have manually updated BIOS to the latest version from Jan 30, 2018. I leave the other drivers on Windows Update (it is 2018 and I do not want to manually check the manufacturer's website...).

Abnormal restarts for no reason
Respected Sir,
I'm facing an issue with my business workbook here, the issue I'm facing here is the abnormal restart ( or shutdown some of the times ) whenever I run a certain application. I scanned all the files on my workbook as well as of the program which I run. I even tried reinstalling windows losing all of my personal details but the problam still remains and now I can't see anything that I can do to make my workbook work again as it was before and I think I sure do need help to get out of this problem and so contacting you.
I even tried upadting my workbook to the latest everything but still I see the problem persists.
I'm in serious need of help. hope to get a reply soon enough about my problem.

Cannot use fingerprint to login in windows 10 on Elitebook 1030 G2
Hello,
We have received our batch of 16 Elitebook 1030 G2 laptops, and installed the first one. We have noticed that in Windows 10 we cannot login using the fingerprint. We get the message: Sorry something went wrong. Please try again.
Using the password to unlock the laptop works. Also, in the HP Client Security, in the Identity Security area, Fingerprints, when the authentication required window appears, I can use the fingerprint to authenticate, meaning that the driver works.
Technical details:
Domain computer
Synaptics VFS7552 Touch Fingerprint Sensor version 5.2.5014.26 29.05.2017
Windows 10 x64
Elitebook 1030 G2 laptop
Can you please help out? Is there anything missing or not installed?

I extended my warranty in January 2018

I was supposed recieve other document vie snail mail.

With the help of Google it seems that some others have had similar issues that have turned out to be hardware problems.
What you could do is to download e.g. the free version of the Speccy utility and monitor the temperatures on the Summary screen as you run your application.

If you don't see an HP logo when you reboot, you probably have FastBoot enabled and at least for me it was bad.
The keyboard goes largely ignored and recovery process is not even started. This is something that should be fixed in the BIOS
You can verify the FastBoot status by downloading the BCU or BIOS Configuration Utility and dumping the BIOS config but if the WInKey+Up+Dn has no effect that is a bad sign already.

How do you set OSK to automatically come up on Zbook X2 Windows 10
Does anyone know how to make the OnScreen Keyboard come up automatically when you click a text field/box while the BT keyboard is turned off? and how do you change the size of the keys and the layout style?
The OSK Im referring to (since there seems to be two) is the one you can acces by typing "osk" into the cortana search bar.
I have searched and Im not finding any answers for this unit. I had a Dell 2-in-1 that had to be manually set, but those options don't work for this device.

This issue is definitely not unheard of. There are a few possible solutions but please try this:
- Search Device Manager
- Find and expand Biometric devices
- Right-click the fingerprint entity
- Select Properties
- Go to the Power Management Tab
- Untick Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power

Has anyone had any experience with the Onscreen keyboard (OSK) yet? I just got my ZBook today, and there was already a pretty bad issue that I had to contact customer service about, and they are trying to figure something out on their end. In the mean time, Im playing around with the unit, trying to see what quirk it has. And not moments in, I find one. I was navigating my way around the unit with the keyboard disconnected and turned off only to find that the OSK will not automatically come up at all. If I click on any sort of text field, like a search bar, web address bar, or even to type in a document, nothing happens. I have to maunually bring it up every... single.. time. Ive gone through device settings and ease of access settings, and nothings working. On top of that, when I have the OSK up, it makes the most obnoxious keytones for every... single... keystroke.
Please, I could really use some help here.

Problem with BIOS Configuration Utility (Password Change)
Hello,
I'm trying to change the BIOS password on a HP EliteBook 850 G3 (newest BIOS installed) with the newest Bios Configuration Utility (4.0.24.1) and it fails.
I'm getting the Error 10 (wrong Password). But it is 100% correct.
When I try to change BIOS settings on this machine it fails with the following error:
