Print Screen no longer saves to pictures

$

My system did a long update yesterday and since this has happened whenever I hit my print screen it no longer saves the image to my "pictures"/ "screenshots"

How or where or what settings do I need to change to get it to return to doing this action?  I use it a lot.

Thanks

Hi,

You are pressing WinKey + Prt sc

Let me know,

How do I recover messages that have mysteriously disappeared from the mailbox.

I use Outlook 2016 to correspond with friends and my clients. But the problem is that I could not find several important letters for me. Errors were found in the .pst file. Quit Outlook and all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and fix errors in the file. How can I recover messages now? If I do not receive a letter, I will have confusion with orders and problems with customers.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Outlook messages must use a mail Server to travel outside of your PC.

The .pst file only contains what you have either sent from your PC, or received from the mail Server and stored on your PC.

You should check the mail Server to see if it still has those messages.

If it does not, you should then check with your mail Server administrators to see what backups they have and if they can load them for you.

If they don't have backups, and you can't retrieve the messages from the .PST file, I know of no third way to get them back.

You can try the following command.

"setup.exe" -s -overwrite

Hi,

No, I've never had to press the WinKey to enable the screenshots to be taken, simply the prt sc key which has then created the screenshot and saved it directly into pictures/screenshots in my one drive.  Now, if I press the prt sc key it does take the shot but I then have to copy/paste into paint for example and then save it rather than it automatically saving the screen shot as an image to one drive.

This is the action I need to try to make happen again.

Thanks

When I put my Spectre X360 into sleep mode, it doesn't completely sleep, the power button continually flashes wasting the battery.  How do I disable this annoying and stupid "hey I'm sleeping!" flashing light?  What an id iotic design choice.  Remarkable.  Thanks!

ProBook 430G5 & Ellite USB C Dock

Afternoon.

I have just recieved my brand new ProBook 430G5 today and I am experiencing some problems with the Ellite USB-C Dock. When I plug in the USB-C cable to the laptop the light on the dock just repeatedly flashes and the computer constantly makes a disconnecting sound (the same as when you remove a flash drive).

I have checked the USB-C port works by using a different device, and when I look in device manager it doesn't display the dock or any of its components when it is connected.

Has anybody had this issue before, or are you able to give me some suggestions to fix the problem.

Every desktop pc or laptop I have owned has flashing power button when in Sleep mode. Perhaps a little more noticebale on laptops with external power button but I don't know of any way to get rid of it other than use Shut down.

Today Microsoft released a new Cumulative Update for WIndows 1803 which states:

Addresses an issue with power regression on systems with NVMe devices from certain vendors.

Maybe this resolves our issue.

I have not used this software.

I can offer a couple of comments and perhaps where to look to dig this application out of your File System.

FAQ - HP PhoneWise

This appears to be a Windows Store Application -- and there is is similar software listed in the Elitebook's Software and Driver Support page > Software Solutions > HP Workwise Service

If you have not done so, try removing the application from the Start Screen Application list (Windows key > list by apps)

Check / Remove the HP PhoneWise Windows Application from Start

The application might be under category "HP" >

Open the category, Right-Click on the application > select Uninstall

After the software is removed, Restart the computer and log in

The software might in some odd way be tied to the HP WorkWise Service Software.

I don't know the consequences of removing this software if you are using it -- if you are not using it and you find it in Programs and Features, uninstall it:

Create a Restore Point before making any changes

Stop programs, games, browsers > Create a Restore Point

Control Panel> icon view > System> System Protection

Click (Highlight) your main disk (C) > Select Create a Restore Point

Uninstall the HP WorkWise Software

Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features

Scroll down, find, Right-Click on the software > Uninstall

After the software is uninstalled, Restart the computer and log in

If you like, (re)Install the HP Workwise software

Open  HP Workwise Service

Download, save, and install the software

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

If all else fails, consider switching on Bluetooth long enough to install and then remove the HP PhoneWise Windows Store Application.

Sorry for the thread necro, but this has caused my group a fair bit of aggravation and I wanted to share a potential fix.

After my company was having issues with the thunderbolt docks in our primarily Windows 7 environment (Windows 10 will be rolled out later), we decided to try a few test setups for troubleshooting.

One of the tests was to use a third party thunderbolt 3 dock (Startech dual 4k monitor model in this case)+ a power cable (the HP thunderbolt dock combines both of these). As the Zbook uses more than 100 W of power (the limitation of Thunderbolt) the idea was to separate power as a possible problem.

While we haven't tested this dock for very long (so we can't confirm if it has fixed our other woes yet), one happy side effect that I noted was that LAN/WAN switching *IS* working.

The downfall of this method is now the user has to plug in 2 cables instead of 1 (power and Thunderbolt).

Windows upgrade to 1803 on Elitebook 840 G4 failing

Hello

We are trying to upgrade our HP Elitebook 840 G4's from Windows 10 1607 to Windows 10 1803 however we are receiving an error message stating the hardware is not compatible and cannot upgrade. These laptops are not quite a year old in our environment yet and feel there really should not be an issue. We did test an upgrade to 1709 and it worked fine.

Product Name: HP Elitebook 840 G4

Product ID: 2JV65UP#ABA

S/N for one: [edit]

Intel Core i5-7200U

Bios Version HP P78 ver 1.06

We have tried upgrading manually and through deployment and they all fail. We have also tested with the default image with and out of the Box 804 and it also failed. Built a fresh image with 1803 and it installed without issue, just seems to be any type of upgrade will not work.

Anyone else had this issue and any suggestions?

If the notebook has an  Intel SSD 600p Series or Intel SSD Pro 6000p Series SSD , then that is probably the reason.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/devices-with-certain-intel-ssds-may-enter-a-uefi/703ab5d8-d93e-4321-b8cc-c70ce22ce2f1?tm=1525740693223

IU had the same issue with the HP product loan I received for this year.

I had to roll it back to Windows 10 version 1709 and put the update on pause.

Microsoft is actively working on a patch for this SSD issue that is due today.

I also have this problem. Just got the laptop yesterday and I will send it back to my vendor. Actually I cannot even install windows Update 1803. Trying to do so I get this message:
Installation of windows 10 is not possible

Microsoft: The pc hardware is not supported by this version of windows 10. For more information address to your pc-builder.

I experience the same problem with CPU load being taken by "System" up to 30% til 50%. Furthermore the fan ist really loud running at approx 70%.

As it is the 25th of may today it does not seem that the new Cumulative Update for WIndows 1803 named by JK80 in 05-24-2018 11:06 really does make a difference
