We're talking 15 devices (30 docks), do you really consider the docks defective in that case?

OK - I misunderstood.  I thought the original request was to quell the pop-ups.

It is possible to select which applications are allowed to provide notifications.

Should there be a response from HP, you will likely see the response here before anyone contacts you using other methods.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

What is the correct replacement a/c adapter for HP EliteBook 8760w?

I have the HP EliteBook 8760w with 2.70 gigahertz Intel Core i7-2620M.  I lost the power cord from the brick to the wall and am trying to buy a new a/c adapter.  The part numbers on the HP website are for 200W and 230W.  However, the brick that came with the laptop (bought on eBay) is PN #534093-001, which is 90W.  Was it sold to me with the wrong voltage adapter?   If you Google HP EliteBook 8760w power adapter, you get probably 50 different part numbers.  I have tried figuring this out on my own, but uncertain what I need to do.  Would someone please tell me the correct part number for the a/c adapter?  And why is a 90W working but everything seems to lean toward 200W or 230W?

From tha manual, machine can run with 2  AC Adapters

  • 230W RC/V Slim AC Smart Adapter part # 611533-001
  • 200W RC/V Slim AC Smart Adapter part # 645154-001

The 90W adapter is too weak for a mobile workstation class machine. Normally it is for for travelling because it is much lighter

Is HP envy 13-ah0043tu (2018) model discontinued?

Hi there,

I would like to know if the HP Envy 13-ah0043tu (2018) model in specific is discontinued by HP as I see it has gone out of stock and is unavailable everywhere I look for in the online and in the HP dealer points, they say like they only get the i7 version of it and this one cannot even be ordered through them.

Could you please clarify on this as this is definitely the best premium mid-range laptop I've ever seen.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you. I will order the 230W.  I did not know adapters were interchangeble;  I thought they would ruin your PC if you used the wrong size adapter.

BSOD BAD_POOL_CALLER USB 3.0 SP78334 Intel USB 3.0 Driver for Intel 8 and U/Y Series Products

$

I have about a dozen 840 G1 on Win7 64 and so far 3 are generating BSOD when I install the above driver.

All the BIOS are the 1.46A (first thing I update).

Basicaly the machines BSOD with BAD_POOL_CALLER messages during the driver install. Using Nirsoft Blue Screen View I have been able to trace the issue to iusb3xhc.sys and ntoskrnl.exe. I have run the full PC-Tools from a USB and all HW passes.

I can get back in and see that the driver was not updated. I tried to update the driver from device manager directly from the SWSETUP\SP78334 folder which appears to have worked for at least one machine. I had another with a USB hub whose chipset was not recognized (USB 5534B and USB 2134B)and took some further action (below), but ultimatly realized this driver did not support my hardware, but the Intel version did (Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver_5.0.4.43_v2.zip)

If I reinstall over the current version I get a message that not all was properly configured.

If I uninstall the "Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver" Application from Programs and Features the the computer will not boot, indeed goes into a BSOD. I am forced to recover with system restore. (Unfortunatly my propblem child had an issue with system restore which tells me my WMIStaging folder was not properly restored)

I updated one machine to the last Intel verson of the driver while attached to a docking station and it installed fine. Another on AC power (appeared) to install fine, but a few days later while on battery rebooted twice. I upgraded this to the Intel version and got BSOD. I believe the upgrade was done on battery.

I am trying to minimize the HP features installed and not using any of the security features including fingerprint reader. My list of installed drivers is as follows.

SP90176.EXE HP Notebook System BIOS Update 1.46
SP87257.EXE Intel Chipset Installation Utility 10.1.1.40 REV: A PASS: 1 (REBOOT)
SP90249.EXE Intel Management Engine (ME) Firmware Component 9.5.65.3000 Rev.A (INSATLL CONNECT TO POWER - REBOOT)
NOTE: The SA-00086 tool directs the user to SP82450, but this is newer. Also need driver
NOTE: This install is in a DOS box and does clearly indicate that it has completed.
SP79059.EXE Intel Management Engine Components Driver 11.6.0.1045 REV: A PASS: 1 (REBOOT)

The following drivers should be replaced by Intel USB 3.0- Series 8 Drivers
NOTE: MAKE A RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING EITHER DRIVER
NOTE: Install connected to a docking station if possible
SP78834.EXE Intel USB 3.0 Driver for Intel 8 and U/Y Series Products 4.0.6.60 REV: A PASS: 1
=> \Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver_5.0.4.43_v2

SP79046.EXE Intel I217LM/V and I218LM Gigabit Ethernet Driver for Microsoft Windows 12.15.23.7 A 1

The following drivers should be replaced by Intel Proset drivers
SP87906.EXE Intel Bluetooth Driver (Windows 7) 20.60.0.4 Rev.A
=>BT_20.110.1_64_Win7.exe
SP87799.EXE Intel Wireless AC/N-7260 19.10.13.1 P 1
=> WiFi_20.90.0_PROSet64_Win7.exe

SP67270.EXE Intel Smart Connect Technology Driver 4.2.41.2499 A
Note: driver needed to avoid HW Error, but can be disabled => updates while sleeping
SP92181.EXE Intel Video Driver and Control Panel 10.18.14.5057 Rev.W
SP64824.EXE HP Universal Camera Driver 1.00 A 22 (Reads as SunplusIT 3.4.8.33 11/4/2013 in device manager)
SP65631.EXE IDT High Definition (HD) Audio Driver 6.10.6499.0 REV: J PASS: 20 NOTE: Check install=> Programs and features
SP91562.EXE Synaptics Mouse Driver 19.0.19.68 REV: A PASS: 3
SP74003.EXE Realtek USB and PCIe Media Card Reader Drivers 10.0.370.95 Rev.A (10.0.10143.21278 in Dev Mgr)
NOTE: Does not display in Softpaq unless a media card is installed

One thing I did not try is rolling back the device driver from Device Manager.

Ideally I am looking to know how to tell if this is installed correctly or how to properly remove and update the device.

FWIW, I have also had BSOD issues running the SP87906 BT driver, but no issues with Intel driver.

Hello

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Note that your 2 posts have been merged here into a single thread of yours, to keep it all in one place (related to the BIOS password).

An official TKB article exists on this matter >> https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Knowledge-Base/Forgotten-BIOS-or-power-on-password-HP-Commerical-notebooks/ta-p/6891966

You may want to check it out.

Basically, you will have to  contact HP Business Support  for assistance on removing the password.

Here is how to reach to HP:

Based on the country/location/PC model, contact options vary - web/chat/ticket/phone. Ask for SMC.bin file

  • HP Business support should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file and instructions which you can use  to reset the password.
  • After contacting the tech support, the first point of contact is Level 1 technician wo will confirm your wishes and will also collect specific unique information from your computer. A ticket will be assigned internally to a senior technician (engineer) who will evaluate the requirements and will generate a file which can be sent to you via email.

Once you receive the .bin file, read the TKB article for the necessary instructions you need to follow

Hope this helps. Let me know if you experience any issues and provide an update.

It's not crystal clear as to the capabilities of the m.2 slots in the 840 (ie USB vs PCI-e) and I am wondering if any one has succesfuly installed an Intel AC-7265 in the 840 g1.  Also unclear if the antennas will reach or if the antennas intended for cell will work.

HP Elitebook 8730W won't power on at all

Hello all! I am currently experiencing an issue with my HP Elitebook 8730w. It was working a long time ago (3 months ago) and then recently it stopped working when windows booted up, as it would shut down after windows booted and the fan was the only thing that would continue to work. Now all I can experience is when I plug in my computer, it'll show it is receiving power but pressing the power button does nothing. It used to do a power cycle and say the CPU is not functional and then power off. So I replaced the original Core 2 Duo CPU with a Core 2 Extreme (compatible with the HP Elitebook 8730W), and I still can't hit the power button and power on the computer. Is my BIOS corrupt and do I have to somehow reflash my RAM, or is the computer dead beyond repair? The computer is out of warranty and I'm literally working on it myself with very little money. I just need the computer for school, work, and gaming. But with the computer broken, I can't do much. If you have any thoughts on this issue, please reply! Thanks, Comouterteen17 P.S. I do know I misspelled my username so it's really ComputerTeen17

Hello

HP BIOS checks if the WLAN card is one of the model thta could be installed in the factory.

it's useless to try to install Intel AC-7265 Wireless\BT card as BIOS will not recognize and use it.

You will get an error during power on sequence and boot will be stopped.

Bye

Hello all,

I need to downgrade a TPM chip from 2.0 (7.63) to 1.2 (6.43); the current Softpack SP81900 only has the 7.62 to 6.43.

Does anyone has the TPM 2.0 (7.63) to TPM 1.2 (6.43) file to use with the utility?

Thank you
