My problems:
No display at startup.. sometimes it was working and sometime not.. I thought it was the video cable because I saw the backlighting working.
Sometimes it was working fine when I closed my laptop lid and open a few times.. with all kinds of tricks to find what was wrong..
My fix:
Finally I removed the front of my LCD cover... to find out there was a switch that detects if my PC the lid was open or closed.
Under that lid there is a small magnet that triggers the magnetic switch.. So I checked out if that could be the problem.
After closing my PC many times without the magnet, I went thru all conditions possible.. It never failed again.. be sure you do not put it in sleep mode.. !!!
So that was an easy fix that nobody has been talking about yet!!
From the video cable that could be broken or this magnetic swich, there 's only those two cause for problem that could occur when the video is off on the LCD screen of your laptop.. beside the sleep mode again.
